A waterfront oasis set on the shores of Okanagan Lake, Manteo Resort is designed to meet the needs of groups

KELOWNA, BC - Event organizers will discover a fresh and vibrant destination for meetings, conferences and special events at Kelowna¹s new Manteo Resort Waterfront Hotel & Villas. Located minutes from downtown Kelowna, on the tranquil shores of Okanagan Lake, Manteo Resort offers a total of 92 rooms, including a full-service hotel and 14, two- and three-bedroom deluxe villas.

The resort¹s 2,700-square-foot Waterfront Room can accommodate up to 160 for a banquet, with dance floor, or a maximum of 245 for a reception. This room is divisible by three and offers an impressive panoramic view of the Okanagan Valley. For smaller corporate meetings and retreats, Manteo Resort is equipped with six lakeview boardrooms, each able to host up to 16 people. A 30-seat theatre is perfect for slide, PowerPoint, video and DVD presentations and the casual Fireside Library or Upper Lounge, complete with pool table, big screen TV and large outdoor patio, can be reserved for private gatherings of up to 60 people.

³Our goal is to ensure every event held at Manteo Resort is an incredibly successful one,² says Conference Services Manager, Sheilagh Reigh. ³We offer a full range of services, from audio visual rentals and customized catering to assistance with theme events, spousal programs, golf, winery tours and a host of other recreational activities.²

Manteo¹s Catering, Food & Beverage department, headed by Jimmy Mühlebach, is fully prepared to design menus to meet specific group needs, from an elaborately themed awards banquet to a casual, outdoor reception. ³We want to offer as much flexibility as possible when it comes to meeting a group¹s food and beverage requirements,² says Mühlebach. ³With such an abundance of fresh foods and world-class wines available right at our doorstep, menu planning can be a really enjoyable experience.²

Manteo Resort is able to assist groups with organizing off-site tours, events and recreation, including golf tournaments and winery tours. In addition, Tourism Kelowna promotes a host of support services for event planners and has just published its 2000 destination guide.
