Born in the province of Baden, one of Germanyıs most prestigious wine regions and renowned for its world-class cuisine and hospitality, itıs little wonder that Reinhard Foerderer pursued a career as a chef from an early age. Raised by parents who owned and operated a hotel and restaurant in the Black Forest, Reinhard followed in his fatherıs footsteps and completed a three-year cooking apprenticeship at the Schlosshotel Monrepos in Ludwigsburg, Germany. His career has included positions with the Park Hilton Munich and the Grand Hotel Victoria Jungfrau in Interlaken, Switzerland. Reinhard also has a hospitality management degree from one of Europeıs most recognized Hospitality Colleges, the Heidelberg Hospitality Management College.
In 1996, Reinhard immigrated to Canada, where he became Sous Chef at the Fish House in Stanley Park. From there he and his family moved to Whistler where he served as Executive Chef at the Plaza Bistro and Bigwoodıs Restaurant & Bar, a venture of Hyıs of Canada.
Reinhardıs Wild Apple Grill menu extends far beyond a traditional European background, and is influenced by Thai, Mexican, East Indian, North American, Chinese and Caribbean cuisine.
