Modern Okanagan Lakeside Luxury
The evolution of 3762 Lakeshore Road harkens back to 1953. That year a humble, yet perfectly located hotel sprang from the sand on Lake Okanagan. It was the original Beacon Beach Resort built by Fred and Grace Duggan.
The Duggans successfully ran the resort for 7 years before selling it in 1960. By this time, Beacon Beach was gaining momentum as a hip place to stay and play. New owners Milt Applebaum, (an investor from Seattle) and Roy Duggan (Fred’s brother) continued to provide the perfect experience for making memories.
Eventually purchased by Bill and Marion Bilida, the Beacon Beach Resort’s reputation continued to grow, as did Kelowna. The Okanagan was establishing itself as the warm, fruit bearing, lake loving, hospitable interior of British Columbia. Years of fun ensued. And the word spread of the Okanagan’s beauty and laid back residents.
